Update on our lives.

Sometime yesterday my cousin, Katie, fell from a two-story balcony and fell on her face. My Aunt still does not know all the damage, other than loosing two teeth and break another two and broke her nose as well. Talking to my Aunt, it sounds as Katie could have also broken her jaw and her arm. She is extremely lucky that she only broke a few teeth and maybe some bones. I am hoping that I will be able to fly out sooner and spend time helping out. As of right now, Katie's boyfriend, Daniel, took off work to help out.

I still haven't had any luck with finding a job. Though, I do have a babysitting interview tomorrow, and hopefully I'll be babysitting for them on the 19th of this month. Fingers crossed! Though, next week I do get to sub at a law firm for Thursday and Friday for the receptionist. Got to love church members that are willing to help out!

Last night Matt and I went on a date to go bowling and play put-put. My bowling is slowly getting worse as I've been out of my class, ha. Though, Matt didn't do too great himself either, but he did mange to score above 100. Here is a picture of the awesome put-put players. Jealous of our mad skills? Well you should be!

A whole lot of nothing going on

So, last week, Matt and I tagged along to take pictures with Lindsay and James. The pictures they had taken are for a few of the frames they are going to be having at the wedding. Of course, I brought my camera along as well, and took pictures of Matt and myself while Lindsay and James were having their pictures taken.

For Labor Day, we went jeeping with James and Lindsay close to Breckenridge. It was fun, and a very bumpy ride. This is a view from the Jeep.

I have now had two interviews, and now I must sit and wait to hear back from one of them to see if I got the job or not. I am really hoping that I got both jobs. I can work from 9-6 M-F since both jobs are part time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Matt could be going to Mexico for work, but we're not sure yet and he doesn't know when he'll even find out if he is going or not.

Saturday, Matt and I are going to Estes Park for the annual Scottish/Irish Festival. I am looking forward to that, means I'll get to take pictures of Matt and I.

That's all for now. Time to get dressed and go have lunch with Matt.

Short trip to Utah and lots of weddings coming up!

Well, I decided to take a short break from packing and picking up the basement for a brief update.

The Christopherson household (Matt's parents and us) will be heading down towards Utah tonight after everyone is off work for a funeral on Monday. A family member of Matt's passed away unexpectedly last Sunday. I don't know any details, other than Robert (Matt's cousin) was not feeling well and didn't show up for work one day. It's sad to hear about a family member dieing, though I know the funeral will be nice.

My sister-in-law, Lindsay, is getting married very soon! Her wedding seems to be just around the corner. I had a friend from elementary school get married today as well. And one of Matt's best friends is getting married a month after Lindsay. We are still waiting to see if Matt is the best man or just a groomsman for the wedding, Matt doesn't remember what Joel told him. I am sure we will be hearing about a lot of weddings as we get closer and closer to getting back to school. I have my fingers crossed for one of our friends to get married in December sometime.

I suppose that I need to get back to picking up the basement and packing our bags for the weekend.

PS: I just finished a book called 'Sarah's Key' very good. I liked it. I am now starting 'The Book Thief' I'm told that is another good book to read.

Why can't I get hired?

It's a quiet night, and felt like a quick update on life.

Matt and I made it safely to Colorado after leaving Rexburg two hours later than we had planned on. We arrived in Colorado around 10:30 at night, which wasn't as bad as last year when we had to stop on the side of the road to sleep for an hour. We've unpacked and moved back into the basement. Matt doesn't start work until the 24th of August, leaving him time to drive me around town, helping me to become familiar with Colorado again. I wish it was like Sugar Land, and I'd know where everything is. Though, I can get myself to Target, the Temple, and Park Meadows Mall (only because of driving there so many times in the past week and a half.)

As for me and jobs, I am hopeless. I've applied for a few nanny jobs I found on Craig's List, but they all turned out to be scams and use stolen checks to try and pay you. Ugh! I had four replies to nanny jobs, the first one I thought wasn't from the states which is why their typing was horrible. She wanted to drop her kid off at the house, and when I told her no, she ignored me, sent a check anyways. The check started off in Canada, when she told me she was from VA and after I took out my month's payment the check was then to go to GA. Matt felt bad about the job, so when we got the check in the mail he called the number on the packing label, which just happened to be disconnected, than he just opened the package and the check was from Discount Tire in AZ. He called them and found out it's a fraud and someone has been stealing checks. There goes nanny job number 1. Nanny job number 2 was a man from London he sounded really legit and things were going great, till he stopped emailing me all together. Nanny job number 3 the lady replied back saying she needed someone for the whole school year. And nanny job number 4 the lady emailed me saying she was in town for 3 weeks for a convention but she did the same thing saying a check would be coming and I would than need to send it to Houston. Little did she know I was from Texas. So, I looked up the address on google earth and the house that matched the address had boarded up windows. Good-bye to that nanny job.

I have applied to what feels like 100 jobs, and I have heard from Macy's, which told me my hours are not what they are looking for even though I put open to close on my availability except for Sundays. I guess from now on, I'll have to say I can work 2 Sundays a month just so I can try and find a job. I applied at AMF bowling, Buckle clothing, Papyrus and a lot other places as well. Hopefully, I can get something soon. I'm not sure I can keep myself busy at the cannery for the next 4 1/2 months, I'll go crazy!! I told Matt today that I may have to work at Taco Bell, even though I'd hate my life forever! Maybe I should find a temp agency soon.

Picked up the violin tonight, it sure did work my arm and fingers. The fingers are killing me! Though it was a lot of fun. I'm even thinking about taking lessons back at school, but I am also required to join the orchestra as well. We'll see how my schedule works out next semester.

Got two books yesterday at Target called 'Sarah's Key' and 'Julie and Julia' the one that just had a movie come out. So far, 'Sarah's Key' is a good book, I'm getting close to being half way through it, and I've only read it two nights so far.

I'm out of things to blog about. Maybe things will change at the end of the week that is worth sharing.
